So there was a big deal that doesn't happen very often today. There was a partial eclipse for most of the US and a total eclipse for quite a bit of the country. It made me start to think about how neat it might be to witness an eclipse out on the water. With a boat like this, you could get a great view, clear of trees and buildings where you don't have to hunt for a place to get a good view. Of course, you won't want to look at the sun directly, but there are ways to see it without destroying your retinas. 

I was lucky enough to be able to look at it through my welding hood and see the actual crescent of the eclipse.  I noticed some other things that were different in the lower light of the eclipse. I noticed that you could see the individual shadows of the trees. even the pine needles' shadows could be seen during the eclipse. It just made me wonder what other things would look differently. Would the waves and water look a bit different? I may never know since the next eclipse that will be passing through is going to be pretty far off.
